The book Disoriented Wars is about today's destructive and lawless wars. The age we live in is not the age of stone, nor bronze, nor iron...It is the age of plastic. Everything can change shape quickly and is alien to the earth. In such an age, wars have also become directionless. M. Ertan Kardeş tries to grasp today's disoriented wars “as a border issue of political philosophy” by opening them to discussion. The study invites us to think about contemporary political philosophy's issues such as recognition, crisis and conflict from the perspective of war. From the perspective of “philosophy or political philosophy”, it seems inevitable to recognize wars in the context of their historicity and to think about the ways in which war reproduces itself as violence. The book explores the symptoms of the age through cross-readings around Hobbes, Rousseau, Clausewitz, Hegel, Schmitt and Aron and underlines the necessity of rethinking all our social designs in a world of disoriented wars.
