Principles of physics are used to describe radiation production and behavior, radioactivity, interactions describing the energy stored in the medium, radiation detection and shielding. These uses provide a comprehensive and applicable review of the fundamental physics concepts in radiation protection. An approach is first proposed and then the review continues. Deficiencies and errors are corrected as they are identified, and new information on internal radiation dose, dynamics of radioactivity released to the environment, and logarithmic-normal statistics are added. Together with the previous ones, a large number of real cases and problems provide experience and clarify concepts.
