Dear İstinye Family,

 

As stated in the notice below, the allocated quota for 2026 for Gold/full open access journals ran out on 12.08.2026. Due to incoming questions regarding the issue and to eliminate misunderstandings, it has become necessary to make the following clarification.

Regarding articles for which an open access application was submitted during journal article submission in 2026, met the TÜBİTAK criteria, were "conditionally approved," and are currently in "Under Review" status:


 

  • Articles with an Acceptance Date on or before 31.12.2026 cannot be published as open access under the agreement, as the 2026 Gold quota has been exhausted.

 

  • Articles with an Acceptance Date on or after 01.01.2027 will be able to benefit from the 2027 quota, provided that the 2027 quota is active and other terms of the agreement are met.

 

It is recommended to review the relevant article of the TÜBİTAK Criteria regarding the Acceptance Date. The status of applications that currently appear as "Under Review" in the system and were previously conditionally approved depends on when the evaluation and acceptance process of the article will be completed by the journal editors.

In summary, conditional approval does not guarantee that the article will be published as open access. For an article to benefit from the agreement, its acceptance date (Acceptance Date) must fall within the relevant quota year, and quota must be available for that year. Furthermore, each year's quota is independent of one another.

The remaining Hybrid quota for 2026 is 156.
